Graduate Marketing & Communications Officer

Staffroom Education are an Education-based Recruitment Agency located in Cardiff Bay. As part of our growth plans for 2024, we are delighted to be recruiting a Graduate Marketing & Communications Officer to join our dynamic and lively team on a full-time basis.

The successful post-holder will be responsible for:


1. Digital Content:

  • Project managing the provision of existing and new content for publishing through the company's digital communication channels.

  • Collating new content for the website in collaboration with both staff and stakeholders

  • Drafting news updates for publishing.

  • Providing editorial oversight for all content, including editing content supplied by stakeholders to ensure that it is interesting and appealing for its end use.

  • Creating and managing an on-going content publishing schedule and updating content as required (including text, video, audio and/or images).

  • Syndicating and sharing content for placement in stakeholder communication channels as required, including stakeholder liaison.

  • Assisting with the compilation of campaign e-newsletters/emails and curating suitable content from various channels for distribution.

  • Assisting in the development of guidelines about the provision of content for the web - language, tone of voice, images etc.

2. Social Media:

  • Supporting the management of, and publishing content on the company's social media presence - that currently includes Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Youtube and LinkedIn but might be expanded further over the coming months.

  • Monitoring and moderating online comments and discussion in accordance with policy, escalating concerns as necessary.

3. Evaluation:

  • Tracking, measuring, and reporting on the effectiveness of the company's digital presence.

  • Producing regular update reports on results.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with demonstrated experience in writing for the web and managing social media (with sensitivity and an understanding of different audiences and subject matter).

  • Strong editorial skills, with experience of editing content for digital publication and distribution.

  • Experience of using content management systems (Wordpress or similar).

  • Experience of digital communications campaigns.

  • A confident telephone manner.

  • A positive attitude and sense of humour.

  • Self-motivation.

  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Baking skills are a bonus - we love office snacks!


Desired experience:

  • Degree qualification (preferably in Media, Communications or Journalism).

  • Adobe design software - Photoshop or InDesign.

  • Photo/video editing.

  • Basic HTML skills.

  • Interest in/experience of the recruitment/education sector.
